Fondouk 2.0: what changes for your store

Fondouk 2.0 is the biggest update since launch. It covers the free module (available now on GitHub) and Fondouk Pro (being validated by PrestaShop Addons). In short: your products speak the new language of AI assistants, your prices stay the ones you chose to show, and you can check all of it in one click.
The new protocol of AI assistants: MCP 2026-07-28
On 28 July 2026, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — the standard assistants such as Claude use to query services — published its largest revision: no more handshake or session, every request stands on its own. Fondouk 2.0 supports it. We checked it with a real client: Claude Code connects to a Fondouk 2.0 store directly in this revision.
Assistants that still speak the earlier revisions (2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26) keep being served. There is nothing to configure.
Your prices stay the ones you show
- The catalog served to agents is always computed as for an anonymous visitor: a price reserved for a customer group or a business account is never exposed.
- If your store hides its prices from visitors, agents do not see them either.
- Catalog responses are never kept by an external cache (browser, proxy, CDN): a price you have just removed does not come back.
Earlier versions could, in some configurations, serve agents a price the storefront did not show. This is fixed, and we recommend the update to every store.
Sturdier against bot traffic
- The rate limit can no longer be bypassed with forged proxy headers. Behind a reverse proxy or a CDN, an optional “trusted proxies” setting keeps a fair limit per client.
- The cost of a request depends on the number of products requested, and the activity log is capped per day.
- On the MCP endpoint, the browser
Originheader is checked (DNS-rebinding protection). The REST catalog stays open to everyone.
A diagnostic in one click
A “Run the diagnostic” button checks what agents can actually read from your store: manifest, catalog, MCP, prices, availability. The essential diagnostic is included in the free module.
Fondouk Pro 2.0: see what agents do in your store
The free module makes your store readable. Fondouk Pro shows you what happens next:
- Who comes: which AI agents visit, how often, and which ones use the modern protocols rather than reading your HTML.
- What they look at: the products agents view most, with the latency of your answers.
- Your rules: allow, throttle or block an agent family, with quotas, based on the identity agents declare. Human visitors are never affected.
- Compliance: CSV export, configurable retention, purge, GDPR hooks; IP addresses are only kept pseudonymised.
- New in 2.0: the full Commerce Diagnostic, permissions checked for every back-office action and the module’s own CSRF protection.
Pro is self-contained: if the free module is installed, it stands by while Pro serves, and takes over again if you uninstall Pro. Your history is kept. The public demo store runs Fondouk Pro 2.0 — see the live dashboard.
Updating
- Free: download
fondouk.zipfrom the v2.0.0 release and upload it in Modules → Module Manager. - Pro: the 2.0 update will be available from your PrestaShop Addons account as soon as Addons has validated it.
- PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.2, tested on 8.0.5, 8.2.8, 9.1.5 and 9.2.0. From 1.3.x (free) or 1.4.0 (Pro), migrations run automatically and your data is kept.
